After long delays during the COVID-19 pandemic, passport processing times have dropped considerably.
A notice from the Charleston Passport Center updates the routine processing window to 7-10 weeks, while expedited service is just 3-5 weeks.
Please note that mailing times are NOT included. The processing times only account for the period that your application is at one of the passport centers.
It may take up to two weeks for applications to arrive by mail at a passport center, and up to two weeks for you to receive a completed passport in the mail.
Consider the total time it will take to receive your passport when you are booking travel.
The Daviess County Clerk’s Office is a Passport Acceptance Facility for first-time applicants and students under the age of 16. You must also apply in-person if your previous passport was lost, stolen or damaged or if it was issued more than 15 years ago.
