The Daviess County Clerk’s Office has new signs posted indicating the approximate wait times for the Auto Department.
Avoid the line by using the online renewal portal at drive.ky.gov. Be sure to have your plate and title number.
Alternatively, the Clerk’s Office is accepting renewals by mail. Include your renewal notice, insurance card, and a phone number where you can be reached.

At this time, the Clerk’s Office is unable to renew any truck trailers due to fee errors. However, these renewals are not due until March.
For hybrid and electric vehicle owners, a new ownership fee will be assessed per KRS 138.475. This fee is separate from the Motor Vehicle Tax and/or Registration Renewal fees usually paid during an owner’s birth month.
Notices have been mailed out to January, February, and March owners of hybrid and electric vehicles. It is preferred that the fee be paid online at https://drive.ky.gov/Pages/EV-HV-Fee.aspx.
The fee may only be collected in the Clerk’s Office if the registration is renewed at the same time.
