The Owensboro-Daviess County Veterans Organization established a Freedom Walk to remember the fallen on 9/11.
Students, first responders, and veterans marched from Fire Station No. 1 to the Courthouse lawn. Judge/Executive Charlie Castlen delivered the keynote address on the 22nd anniversary of the attacks.
The Owensboro Fire Department has a piece of the World Trade Center on display, in front of Station No. 5 on South Griffith Avenue, along with a monument dedicated to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
