A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning nighttime closures of Highland Pointe Drive as part of the KY-54 widening project.
Crews will block the entrance to Highland Pointe from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night next week, beginning September 9.
The closure will allow the contractor to relocate buried utilities in the path of the widening roadway.
Only the entrance to Highland Pointe will be blocked. Businesses will remain accessible via other side streets.
KY-54 is one of the busiest stretches of roadway in Daviess County with around 32,000 cars per day.
To accommodate existing traffic and allow for continued development, KYTC is expanding the highway to three-lanes in each direction with a concrete median for added safety.
