The Stanley Volunteer Fire Department has been selected as part of the 2024 Lowe’s Hometowns program.
The $35,000 grant award will be used to update the training area of the fire station. The department will replace aging appliances, install new flooring, paint, and update bathroom fixtures. Many of these items are original to the station built in 1974.
“This is a blessing that can benefit the whole community of Stanley and the members of our fire department and Daviess County,” said Fire Chief Steve Smith.
Stanley Volunteer Fire Department was one of 100 non-profits selected nationwide to receive the grant, as part of Lowe’s largest-ever community impact program.
